Reimagined Mobility · London

A mobility scooter light enough to come with you.

Biovelo builds carbon fibre scooters for people who want to go further than the end of the road. Fold the tiller, lift out the seat, and the frame goes into a car boot with one pair of hands.

12.5KG

BV-T1 Trike target weight, complete with battery and seat. The heaviest piece you lift into the boot is about 8.4 kg.

Most folding scooters still weigh more than the person helping you can lift.

So the scooter stays at home, and the journeys that matter most (seeing family, getting to appointments, a day somewhere new) need a vehicle hoist, an expensive adaptation, or don't happen at all.

Biovelo starts from the lift. A carbon fibre frame, a single low hinge on the steering column and a quick-release seat bring the heaviest piece down to a weight one person can manage.

It is designed by people who use mobility scooters every day, and styled like something you would choose, not something you were prescribed.

The range

Two body styles. One frame.

Both models share the same carbon fibre structure, motor, battery and folding system. Choose three wheels for nimble handling indoors and in tight spaces, or four for extra stability outdoors.

First production is the Base edition of both models: carbon fibre structure in a satin black finish. An exposed-weave carbon edition of each will follow once the Base is in production.

  1. Fold the tiller

One low hinge on the steering column folds the handlebars down over the frame.

  2. Release the seat

The seat lifts straight off its quick-release post.

  3. Take out the battery

The 288 Wh pack comes out separately, so you never lift it with the frame.

  4. Lift it in

The Trike frame weighs about 8.4 kg on its own, light enough for one person.
